Zimbabwe may now export citrus fruits to China after the two countries signed a citrus phytosanitary treaty, which is intended to diversify the fruit's export destinations and reduce dependency on South Africa and the European market. Minister Ni Yuefeng of China's General Administration of Customs represented China, while Anxious Masuka of Zimbabwe's Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development represented Zimbabwe. Sweet orange (Citrus sinensis), mandarin orange (Citrus reticulata), grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), lemon (Citrus limon and Citrus aurantifolia), and sour orange (Citrus limon and Citrus aurantifolia) are among the fresh citrus varieties to be exported from Zimbabwe to China (Citrus aurantium).
