Zimbabwe removed from grey list. Zimbabwe has been removed from the list of countries considered to be insufficiently complaint in implementing anti-Money Laundering and counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) standards. The removal was announced by the Financial Action Taskforce (FATF) on March 4, following an on-site evaluation exercise done in January this year.

Copper Control Amendment Bill

Cabinet considered and approved the Copper Control Amendment Bill, which was presented by the Minister of Justice Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, as Chairman of Cabinet Committee on Legislation. Cabinet was informed that the Bill seeks to provide for the offence of vandalism of utilities through the theft of copper which is then sold on the black market. The Bill makes it illegal for any person to possess copper without a certificate of origin for that copper

Premier African Minerals granted EPO for Zulu claims in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe Government has granted an Exclusive Prospecting Order (EPO) to Premier African Minerals over an area comprising the Zulu Lithium and Tantalum claims (Zulu) in the Fort Rixon district

Approval of the recommendations from the Tripartite Negotiating Forum (TNF)

Cabinet considered and approved the recommendations from the Tripartite Negotiating Forum (TNF) as presented by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development as Acting Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.

Continual implementation of the Tripartite Negotiating Forum

Cabinet received a progress report on the implementation of the Tripartite Negotiating Forum (TNF) from the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.
Following the promulgation of the TNF Act on 5 June 2019, the TNF held its inaugural meeting on 26th June 2019 and mandated its technical committee to deliberate on key socio-economic issues affecting the country and came up with recommendations for consideration by the main TNF. 

President E.D. Mnangagwa launches the Tripartite Negotiating Forum Act

President E.D. Mnangagwa launched the Tripartite Negotiating Forum Act to pave way for the establishment of a platform of social partners — the Government, labour and business — to discuss pertinent issues affecting the economy. The TNF Act will result in the establishment of the Tripartite Negotiating Forum (TNF) where Government will engage the social partners to discuss issues bedevilling the economy such as price increases and labour remuneration. Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa told the 19th Cabinet Decision Matrix briefing that the establishment of the TNF was instrumental in resolving the continued escalation in prices of basic commodities in the market.
