The Government came up with a Performance Evaluation System that annually determines if senior officials are fit for purpose which will be evaluated via the performance-based contracts.

Performance Contracts Extended to Ministers.

The government has extended performance contracts to ministers and to the heads of all local authorities, public enterprises, and State universities. In 2021, Government introduced annual performance contracts for all 21 permanent secretaries in line ministries following the roadmap for implementing, monitoring and evaluating the progress of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1).

Launch of the e-Cabinet Solution

His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde E.D. Mnangagwa, led Cabinet in launching the e-Cabinet Solution. The new paperless platform on which Cabinet will henceforth conduct its weekly meetings comes as one of the flagship e-Government projects to be completed by the Government of the Second Republic.

The occasion of the launch, which preceded the normal Cabinet meeting, marked a very significant step in the adoption of digital methods of running Government operations.

Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube officially launched the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act at a ceremony attended by senior Government officials, development partners and management and board members of state-owned enterprises and parastatals.

Government issued a directive to expedite border clearance processes and alleviate congestion characterising the ports of entry, resulting in long queues of trucks awaiting clearance stretching 15 kilometres.
