Progress in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education was recorded as follows
construction of low-cost boarding facilities at Bayethe Secondary 
School in Umzingwane District, Matabeleland South Province; and 
Checheche High School in Chipinge District, Manicaland Province has 
reached 80%;
• three schools namely Dandawa High in Hurungwe District, 
Mashonaland West; Kundayi Secondary in Mazowe District, 
Mashonaland Central Province; and Maramba High in UzumbaMaramba-Pfungwe District in Mashonaland East Province have
benefitted from the conversion of classrooms to laboratories, and all 
the construction levels are above 70%

Matabeleland province is set for a facelift as a number of infrastructure projects being spearheaded by the government are progressing well, with some nearing completion. At Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo College a Home Economics block is 98 percent complete, while at Gwanda State University, the project to construct Epoch Mine houses for student and staff accommodation has registered 58 percent progress.

Tech Brands and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary education has signed an agreement on the private company's intention to build 2060 school across the country to complement the government's target of 3000 new schools by 2025. Cabinet approved the government's target because of the phenomenal increase in learner enrollment resulting in the need for many schools.

Cabinet considered and approved the Construction of Government Boarding schools. To cater for the increase in demand for both primary and secondary education and ensure that no child walks more than 5 km to school, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education intends to build 3 000 new schools by 2025. The project will be implemented in phases next year starting with one hundred and forty-four (144) model 21st Century Government primary and secondary boarding schools spread across all the country’s 10 provinces. One primary and one secondary boarding school with adequate state-of-the-art facilities will be constructed in each of the seventy-two districts of the country. Adequate Furniture and ICT equipment will be procured for each school, while a source of clean portable water will be installed within 500 metres of the school and including a reticulation system and ablution facilities. Each school will be electrified and provided with internet facilities. The school will be fenced, and civil works in terms of access roads, a car park and landscaping will be undertaken. Each school will have enough land for sport infrastructure, commercial farming and manufacturing. Treasury will fund the first one hundred and forty-four schools, while Public-Private or joint venture arrangements will be crafted to assist in the construction of the three thousand new schools required.

• under the School Registration project, 32 out of the targeted 40 schools were registered; • regarding the Upgrading of Schools Infrastructure project, 42 of the targeted 80 classroom blocks were completed; • on the Development of Learner Modules/Workbooks project, 10 out of the planned 12 modules were developed. All the projects will be completed as targeted in the current 100day circle.

The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education informed Cabinet that a total of 36 Satellite Schools in Chiredzi District, Masvingo Province were registered after infrastructure was upgraded; c) building of one girls’ dormitory at Chapoto Secondary School in Mbire District.

Under the internet connection to Higher and Tertiary institutions project, two institutions, namely Mutare Polytechnic and Morgenster Teachers College were connected.  Under the schools digitalization programme, 13 of the targeted 17 schools were digitalized. On a related project, 15 schools were connected to the internet under the Schools Connectivity (e-learning) programme .
